I was born in 1983 in Khembalung, a remote village in the hidden valley of Makalu Barun National Park. Following the footsteps of my father, I started trekking and mountaineering at an early age of 13. To begin with this adventure, I received a course of trek-guide at Nepal Academy of Tourism and Hotel Management (NATHM) in 2003 and became a licensed trek-guide. Since then, I started leading a trekking and mountaineering groups to many wonderful corners of Nepal.
My experience comes not just from growing up in the mountains though its an advantage for any mountaineer. I am one of the few Nepalis who has accomplished a Diploma in Mountain Guide (2011), certified by the IFMGA/UIAGM (with no ski). I have also attended Longline Helicopter Rescue Training in 2011-conducted by Maison Francois Xavier Bagnoud du Sauvetage FXB and Air Glacier in Sion, Switzerland, which I believe as an added value to my profession.
I have scaled many renowned summits in Andes, Europe, Nepal, Tibet & USA. Till now, I have led 11 successful expeditions to the Mt. Everest Summit from both North and South side. During all those time, I have guided them to achieve the satisfaction of my fellow members and the rare opportunities to see the wonders of Nature.
Perhaps, my involvement in outdoor adventure has also brought me closer to the community people for whom I have initiated and volunteered many activities on regular basis. I severed as a Treasurer (2011-2013) of Nepal National Mountain Guide Association (NNMGA) which is working for the promotion of International Standards Guiding by supporting the formation of Guide's Education. I am also supporting “Nepal ko Sathi,” a Swiss-based NGO supporting Education, Health and Infrastructure Development in remote villages of Nepal.
In my professional adventure, I have had the opportunity to work with some respected international companies which include:
- Audan Trekking, Switzerland
- Adventure Consultants, New Zealand
- Mountain Madness, USA
- Rainier Mountaineering Inc., USA
- Benegas Brothers Expedition, USA
- Fernando Grajales Expedition, Argentina
- Jagged Globe, UK
